In the market of electrical connection hdmi  is independent of many digital television standards having the usage in individual devices like ATSC and DVB.

Afterwards in 2006 hdmi appeared on consumer hdtv camcorders and digital still cameras in the market of many countries.  Also as pressure is coming up from CE market the hdmi shipments required an extension like dvi in many countries. Consumers should know that the hdmi is made up of  various versions of specification where every version has a number on them like 1.0, 1.2, and 1.3a.  In this way each subsequent version of specification contains the usage of similar cable with increasing the bandwidth having the capabilities forwarding on the cable.
